 The Secret Commonwealth arrives on October 3rd! Various websites (including Waterstones) announced today that The second instalment of The Book of Dust, The Secret Commonwealth, will be released on October 3rd in the United-Kingdom.

The Secret Commonwealth with its editor! Philip Pullman publicly revealed this Friday on Twitter that his next book, the second instalment of The Book of Dust, The Secret Commonwealth, is now with its editor. This confirms the bit of news that the author had privately and directly shared with us a few days before, as we were adressing our wishing for the new year.

Philip Pullman knighted for services to litterature Call him Sir Philip: the British author Philip Pullman - current president of the Society of Authors - has been knighted for services to litterature, as it appears in the New Year Honors' list.
In an article published by The Society of Authors, we can find his first reaction to his knighthood: "I was very surprised and honoured to be offered a knighthood. I believe the profession of letters should be recognised as having a proper place in the life of the nation, along with science, and sport, and music, and scholarship, and many other human activities. Many people I admire, such as Quentin Blake, Ellen MacArthur, Chris Hoy, Jacqueline Wilson, Nicholas Hytner, Jocelyn Bell Burnell, Bryn Terfel, Ray Davies, Mary Beard — far too many to list — have been happy to accept a knighthood or damehood, and I am proud to be in their company. I’m immensely grateful to those who have worked so hard over many years to edit, publish, illustrate, and sell my books, and to the Society of Authors, which does so much for the profession of authorship. I’m most grateful of all to those who continue to read my books, and I hope they don’t have to work as hard as those who edit them." The Secret Commonwealth to come for the third quarter of 2019The website of German editor Carlsen, who publishes Philip Pullman's books, annonces Octobre 3, 2019 as release date of the second instalment of The Book of Dust trilogy.

A sculpture "for the Bench" Oxford Botanic Garden announced on Midsummer's Day (yesterday) through its Twitter account that a sculpture will be created next year "for Will and Lyra's bench" by the artist Julian P Warren, who's used to creature with stainless steel. In the past, he create in Svalbard in 2011 an impressive sculpture of polar bear (even named "Panzerjborn" on his website)!

Pullman narrating Peter and the Wolf! Philip Pullman will narrate Prokoviev's Peter and the Wolf, during the annual Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Benevolent Fund Concert, on Sunday 27 May in Poole. The concert will also feature works by Tchaikovsky and Beethoven.

The Secret Commonwealth to be published this year ?It might still be possible for readers to discover the next adventures of Lyra and Malcolm until the end of 2018 : the German editor of La Belle Sauvage, Carlsen, indeed announces on its website the release on November 1 of the German edition of the second instalment of the Book of Dust trilogy, The Secret Commonwealth, retitled as "Ans andere Ende der Welt" (To the other end of the World).

The Book of Dust Trilogy: first glimpse at the title of Book 3 Philip Pullman recently visited Spain, attending in Madrid and Barcelona a series of various litterary events and signing sessions while giving a series of interviews.
In one of these, he spoke with El Templo de las Mil Puertas about the third instalment of his new trilogy, The Book of Dust, giving confirmation it would be set, like Book II, 20 years after La Belle Sauvage and giving us a first glimpse at the book's title: "The third book will have a title related to roses. I don't know if it's going to be 'The Garden of Roses' or 'Roses from the South' but it will have something to do with roses". So far, no publication date has been announced for the second book in his new trilogy, The Secret Commonwealth. The cover art will be similar to Chris Wormell's covers previously used for the French Folio Junior edition last year with additional design details and an alternative lettering for the trilogy name.
