 (BBC Series)Comic-Con trailer revealed!
As the Comic-Con takes place these days in San Diego, the BBC/HBO series His Dark Materials had a panel session for one hour yesterday, featuring Dafne Keen (Lyra), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Lee), Ruth Wilson (Mrs Coulter), James McAvoy (Lord Asriel) and the scriptwriter Jack Thorne and the executive producer Jane Tranter.

It was also the perfect time to release a new, extended trailer displaying daemins and Iorek, but also Lee Scoresby, a lantern slide show at Jordan College, a consul of the witches and maaaany other things to see. Feel free to choose between seeing these now or discovering them later: the trailer is on our main page, just above this piece of news...

Note as well that Series 2 just had its first reading in presence of a part of the cast last week, signifying the start of filming sessions at Wolf Studios, Cardiff. In the meanwhile, the scriptwriter Jack Thorne is now seconded on some of the episodes by co-writers Francesca Gardiner and Namsi Kahn.
To be continued...

(BBC Series) The Season 2 now in production
A few weeks after the release of the first trailer of BBC/HBO show based on Philip Pullman's books - which we expect to see on TV between the last days of October and the first half of November, the filming for season 2 is about to start.

A few days ago Ruta Gedmintas (Serafina) stated that most sets were ready at Wolf Studios, Cardiff and a couple of days later Amir Wilson was presented as the interpret of Will. Since then, a few concurring sources involved in the project (including professionnal websites and Dafne Keen (Lyra)'s mother) let us understand that the main filming should start in the early day of July at Wolf Studios.

However, some outdoor scenes were already shot, as various reports occured those last 2 days in the Cardiff area. Hence, Ariyon Bakare (Lord Boreal) was filming yesterday evening.

We'll keep you informed on the latest news on this topic.

BBC series: filming completed, series coming late 2019
It is Dafne Keen, who will be Lyra in the series, who revealed it: last night, she shared on her Instagram account some live footage and a few pictures from the wrap party of His Dark Materials's first series, based on Philip Pullman's books for BBC and HBO. Lewin Lloyd, who plays Roger, published some pictures as well.

The filming had started in June 2018; out of it will come 8 hour-long episodes covering the whole story of Northern Lights. The post-production might extend over almost one year, as the series might air first at the end of 2019, based on recent statements by Ruth Wilson (Marisa Coulter) or Lin-Manuel Miranda (Lee).

Until then, we might be able to grab some pieces of info about the second series, which is already greenlighted and could go into pre-production early 2019.

BBC series: The 2nd season in pre-production before the end of year
As the filming of the BBC His Dark Materials series is Magisteriumly secret (and this is for the very best), we just have to use what we find to define the current status of the production: we know that Lin-Manuel Miranda (playing Lee Scoresby) completed his task for Series 1 at the beginning of october (thank you Twitter), the fifth of 8 episodes is also completed for about one month now and the episodes 7 and 8 started filming in September, based on the LinkedIn page of the director of photography of these episodes...

A job offer just published by the producing company BadWolf confirms now that the first series is almost completed and, more interesting, that the second one could move into pre-production before the end of his year.

The various hint found on the web, without possibility to confirming this, let us believe that the show could first air at the end of 2019 or in the early hours of 2020. We'll keep you updated as soon as we know more on these topics...
