 BBC Series: S3 confirmed! It's official! Two days after the broadcast of His Dark Materials S2 finale in the UK, the BBC and HBO officially announced that a third and final season will follow!
The press release statees that Jack Thorne will be sided by Francesca Gardiner (who penned S2E5) and Amelia Spencer. Producers will go on with job and Joel Collins is back as production designer. The third season will include 8 episodes, as previously shared by EP Jane Tranter and scriptwriter Jack Thorne in the course of the past weeks. This is also confirmed by Deadline. Happy New Year 2019 While the site has started an update of its code, the entire Cittàgazze team wishes you a happy new year 2019.This beginning of the year will be a little complicated for the site. Being all volunteers, life does not give us all the free time we need to complete the current update quickly and successfully. The operation will therefore be slightly disrupted for some time to come. How growing up in Wales inspired Philip Pullman As we mentionned almost two years ago Philip Pullman was deeply influenced by the ten years he spent in Wales in his childhood and teenage years.
He shares a few memories of his youth in a Welsh newspaper, detailling how landscapes and people of Wales inspired him in his quest for story to tell to the world, but also how the mystery surrounding the death of his father as he was only 7 developped his imagination and lead him to his current occupation, being a writer. Philip Pullman remembers his first day at school in Wales and how his londonian accent led him to a fight with schoolmates. Even if he spent just a decade in Wales, from 8 to 18, Philip Pullman insists these years brought him more inspiration for his writings than any other place he lived in. Since its creation in March 2002, the ambition of Cittàgazze remained the same: stick to the latest developpments related to His Dark Materials and Philip Pullman, while giving the opportunity to everyone to discuss about these topics and many more. If we're still here after 10 years, it is thanks to you, who trusted this website day after day and took part to its life, either on our forum boards, with "fan-arts" or through various annual meeting on Midsummer's Day. Our interest for the news related to the author and books and our clore relationship with our fellows from (bridgetothestars.net and hisdarkmaterials.org) allowed us to be the exclusive partner of New Line in France for news about the movie or studio visit and attendance to the world premiere in London in 2007. We are also gifted with Philip Pullman's trust, who received us in Oxford and even made us proud by attending our annual IRL meeting in Paris in 2010. This made a fine journey over the last decade for a benevolent and non-professionnal team. Journalism and programming are not our main fields of competences but our shared passion for His Dark Materials helped us into bringing this website to life. If you're a regular visitor of our website, thank you so much. If it's your first visit here, be welcome and feel free to keep visiting our pages. I invite all of you to come and meet us IRL in Paris, parc de Bercy, on June 23, 12am for our annual meeting.
